Who is Muaz Kalaycı?

Muaz Kalaycı (b. 1986, Hatay, Turkey) is a Turkish journalist, author, and entrepreneur.


Born in Hatay and raised in Osmaniye, Muaz Kalaycı is one of the Turkish representatives of the IFJ (International Federation of Journalists), the world’s largest press federation, headquartered in Brussels.

Kalaycı began his career at the age of 15 at Radio 80, going on to host programs at Radio Akdeniz and Radio Yakamoz until 2004. That same year, he stepped away from radio broadcasting and began anchoring evening news bulletins on a local television channel. In 2005, he founded Haber Aktüel, where he continues to serve as Editor-in-Chief to this day.

He is the author of two books, Hasbihâl and Güneş Doğmadan Önce, both featuring interviews with notable figures including Kyrgyz author Chinghiz Aitmatov and Iranian violinist Farid Farjad, who has performed in Turkey. The foreword to both books was written by Prof. Dr. Belkıs Ulusoy Nalcıoğlu of Istanbul University’s Faculty of Communication.

In 2012, a survey conducted by Parantez Gazetesi named him the best internet journalist of the year, an award presented to him by Governor Adnan Yılmaz and Mayor Mehmet Keleş.

After relocating to Dubai in 2019, Muaz Kalaycı launched DKD Danışmanlık, DKD Global, TOO.ae, FEW.ae, and Iceberg Cafe.

He is married and has one child.
