Muaz Kalaycı

Who is Muaz Kalayci?

Muaz Kalayci (b. 1986, Hatay, Turkey) is a Turkish journalist, writer and entrepreneur.


Muaz Kalayci was born in Hatay, Turkey and is from Osmaniye, Turkey.

He is one of the representatives in Turkey of the Brussels-based IFJ (International Federation of Journalists), the world's largest press federation.

Muaz Kalayci started his career at Radio 80 at the age of 15. Then he made programs at Radio Akdeniz and Radio Yakamoz until 2004.

In 2004, Kalayci took a break from radio broadcasting and started presenting main news bulletins on a local television channel. In 2005, he founded Haber Aktüel and is still the editor-in-chief.

He is the author of two books, "Hasbihal" and "Before the Sun Rises", which include interviews with Kyrgyz writer Cengiz Aytmatov and Iranian violinist Farid Farjad, who also gave concerts in Turkey, with a foreword written by Prof. Dr. Belkis Ulusoy Nalcioglu, a faculty member at Istanbul University Faculty of Communication.

In 2012, he received the award for the best internet journalism of the year in a survey organized by Parantez Newspaper from Governor Adnan Yılmaz and Mayor Mehmet Keleş.

In 2019, Muaz Kalayci moved to Dubai and founded DKD Consultancy, Sortie Media, TOO.ae, FEW.ae and Vision Innovate. He ended his partnership in Sortie Media in August, 2024.

He is married and has one child.
